MS. JULIE DEANGELIS: My name is Julie Deangelis. I am Dr. Malik’s Medical Assistant. I take care of the patients after their surgeries. So I do stitches, drain removals, dressing changes, any kind of questions that they have when they call about surgery, they want to know if they can get the stitches wet, they want to know if they can get in the shower with their drains, working out, they want to know if they can work out right after surgery. So I just kind of guide them to let them know, you know, what they can do after surgery and how long that it will take, you know, until they can reach those goals that they have.

It is important to have good aftercare after their surgery because if they do not follow, you know, what we tell them about, you know, the stitches and working out, it could make them swell in certain areas and then they won’t get the result that they are really looking for. So as long as they pay attention to us and follow what we say, then the results will be really good after. It is very important for us to see our patient’s results after surgery and it makes us feel good knowing that they are happy with the results and then we know that we did our job.
